The theme is the twinning between the cities of Cisternino and Kreuzlingen in Switzerland, as an instrument of intercultural action.
The redevelopment has also a social value and is a recognition of the emigrants to all lands.
The stones, trees, and flowers typical of the two municipalities interact with each other as the cultures between the two countries.
In the paving there are the draw of the perimeters of the two cities municipal territories with their own symbol in the middle. Each emigrant from Cisternino could engrave his name on a brass plate and it could be inserted in the paving.
The initiative is inspired by the German artist
Gunter Demnig with his "stumbling stones", widespread in several European countries as signs of memory. Here, this idea assumes the meaning of belonging.
